Each library book that you read earns you an entry in our drawing jar for great weekly prizes.
Finish your summer reading log, and you’ll be invited to a “Create Your Own Treats” party
in August for more fun and prizes.

Friday, June 5th, between 10 am & noon—Summer Reading Kickoff
Stop in any time from 10 to noon to sign up for summer reading, and be creative with crafts & games.
Pick up some giveaways and of course, some books!
Friday, June 12th, 10-10:45 am—Alligators & More
Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary will share some of their favorite and most interesting creatures with us.
Friday, June 19th, 10-10:45 am—Patricia Pettinga
Musician/songwriter/guitarist Patricia Pettinga will share her creative talents with us – you’ll be humming when you leave!
Friday, June 26th, 10 am —Pottery Creations
**For kids entering 1st grade and up—must pre-register**
Local artist Marcia Blackman will teach us how to work with clay to create our own interesting designs.
Friday, July 10th, 10-10:45 am—Metal Masks 
**For kids entering 1st grade and up—must pre-register**
Artist Marcia Blackman returns to help us make unique masks using a metal medium.
Friday, July 17th—Ventriloquist Rick Fisher
Join the fun with Rick and his buddy Riley Rabbit. Maybe you’ll even get to join in the act!
Friday, July 24th—Dr. Bird Brain’s “Birds in Art” 
Dr. Bird Brain shares songs, stories, props, and lots of laughswith us as he teaches us about the amazing bird art
of John James Audubon. (Dr. Bird Brain may seem familiar—he’s the brother of Prof. Anson Pantz from the Kalamazoo Nature Center.)

The U.S. Department of Labor has announced a new CareerOneStop reemplyment portal. The website is designed to provide employment, training, and financial assistance during the process of job transition. Facing Foreclosure? Help is Out There
Save the Dream; a Response to Michigan Foreclosures, MSHDA's Save the Dream Campaign includes helpful information on our Web site that assists homeowners who are experiencing financial difficulties or facing foreclosure, our statewide network of homeownership counselors, a second mortgage program to assist current MSHDA borrowers, and refinance programs available to eligible homeowners.
If you are having financial problems, don’t risk losing your home - there are options available. The Save the Dream toll-free number is 866-946-7432. Operated by the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA), the hotline directs homeowners to a homeownership counselor in their county who specializes in foreclosure prevention. Or if they prefer, homeowners can locate a MSHDA Homeownership Counselor directly.
