Summer Reading 2021

Welcome to Colon Township Library’s Summer Reading Program, “Tails and Tales!” We are holding in-person events from June 18th-August 20th. Here is a link to our Summer Reading Event calendar. 2021 Summer Reading Calendar of events one page.docx

The “Tails and Tales” Summer Reading Program will provide young readers with reading challenges, fun Summer Reading events, and take-home activity kits. We encourage older kids to read a chapter book weekly or about 9 books or more throughout the Summer. For children having picture books read to them, we encourage parents to read at least 3 books a week or 27 books throughout the Summer. Please record these in their reading log (you can use the paper log in your folder or log the books on your Wandoo Reader account).

For parents that prefer a digital Summer Reading Program, please visit:

We have take-home activity kits available to order and pick up from the library.  Take-home activity kits are available by request on this form or in the library. Limit to one per child per week. Take and Make Activity kits (

Log the books you have read on Wandoo Reader, or use the paper log included in your Summer Reading folder.

The kids that have completed at least 12 reading activities and submitted their form Summer Reading Activity Sheet (by the final Summer Reading Program event on August 20th) will receive a certificate of completion and Summer Reading Prizes! Make sure you pre-register for the Farmer’s Market event on August 20th. We need to make sure we have enough supplies. Here’s a link to that registration form.
